AutoCAD was developed from other program start in 1977 and release in 1979 called as Interact CAD, also known as MicroCAD. Mike Riddle was cofounder of Autodesk. Autodesk demonstrated first version of AutoCAD in 1982 at Comdex. From 2014 AutoCAD has release Mac version for continuously 4 year.

AutoCAD file mainly saved in dwg. Format and also in DXF format. AutoCAD support dwf. Format developed and promoted by Autodesk for publish CAD data.

Autodesk change its logo and AutoCAD icons throughout various releases through the years.
